Review Process

All chapters and papers go through [single-blind / double-blind] peer review. The steps are:

  1. Initial check: the editorial office checks scope, formatting and similarity.
  2. Editor screening: the book editor decides whether the manuscript should be sent for review.
  3. Peer review: at least [two] independent reviewers with expertise in the subject assess the manuscript.
  4. Decision: accept, minor revision, major revision or reject, with the reviewers’ comments.
  5. Revision: authors revise the manuscript and explain the changes in a response letter.
  6. Acceptance and production: copy-editing, typesetting, proof correction and publication.

Timelines

  • Initial check: [e.g. within 7 days]
  • First decision after review: [e.g. 3-6 weeks]
  • Publication after acceptance: [e.g. 4-8 weeks]

Reviewers’ identities are kept confidential. Editors do not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest; such manuscripts are handled by another member of the board.
