All chapters and papers go through [single-blind / double-blind] peer review. The steps are:
- Initial check: the editorial office checks scope, formatting and similarity.
- Editor screening: the book editor decides whether the manuscript should be sent for review.
- Peer review: at least [two] independent reviewers with expertise in the subject assess the manuscript.
- Decision: accept, minor revision, major revision or reject, with the reviewers’ comments.
- Revision: authors revise the manuscript and explain the changes in a response letter.
- Acceptance and production: copy-editing, typesetting, proof correction and publication.
Timelines
- Initial check: [e.g. within 7 days]
- First decision after review: [e.g. 3-6 weeks]
- Publication after acceptance: [e.g. 4-8 weeks]
Reviewers’ identities are kept confidential. Editors do not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest; such manuscripts are handled by another member of the board.
